There’s a saying in landscape photography that goes something like, “if you want to get the shot, use f8 and be there”. Here’s a prime example of that.
I got up early last Sunday to go out and try to get a few landscape shots. I’ve been through these roads many times before and will go through them many times again, but the magic that the early morning brings is something that you’ll always miss if you don’t get there very early. There’s been many times that I’ve gone hunting in this area of eastern Allen county just as the sun begins to illuminate things to the point you can make out objects, well before it ever breaks the horizon. It’s almost like a different world from what you see during the daytime, something foreign, but so beautiful. I would ask myself “why am I going hunting? I need to be taking pictures!”.
I think this year I’ll give up more of my hunting days in favor of the camera.
